The Greycaine Book Manufacturing Company was a pioneer in the mass production of quality books sold at reasonable prices. The company began operating on what is now the Greycaine Industrial Estate in North Watford in 1926. The company took its name from its Directors, Frank Grey (real name Francis John Christian Gruneisen) and Gordon Ralph Hall.

I have a 12 book collection made by The Greycaine Book Manufacturing Co. Ltd which was left to me by my Grand Parents. They are in excellent condition, brown hard cover with gold lettering and covering all the old classics, I have "Googled" them and have the information that they were sold for 6d from Woolworth's around the late 1920's.
